Enter the Mythic Imagination

Mythic Heart Theatre brings myth, folklore, and timeless literature to life through music, ritual, movement and visual art. Grounded in the cyclical rhythms of the seasons, each production invites community participation and reflection, deepening our sacred connection to nature and to one another.

Upcoming Performance A Feast For The Soul

“One of the most transcendent and magical experiences I have ever had. Our family still talks about it - how we lost all sense of time and place. Was it performance? Art? Theater? Ritual? I was sitting in a seat but it wasn’t passive. We left the theater asking each other, ‘What just happened?’ We were giddy, filled with joy and wonder.”

performance artist Kristi Williamson and visual artist Kathryn Oliver

Performance artist Kristi Williamson and visual artist Kathryn Oliver share a passion for weaving together dance, music, and visual art to tell meaningful stories.

Drawing on myth, folklore, and timeless literature, Mythic Heart Theatre explores how enduring narrative patterns continue to resonate in contemporary life. Rooted in Maine’s seasonal rhythms, their work brings stories to life through body, image, and sound, highlighting our interconnectedness with the natural world. Each production is collaboratively created, with Kathryn shaping the visual world and Kristi developing the embodied performance, while both share in directing the work.

Audiences are invited to participate through singing, gentle movement, and shared action, with all participation remaining optional and accessible from their seats. Through an integration of performance, music, masks, and visual storytelling, Mythic Heart Theatre creates immersive experiences that foster curiosity, reflection, and wonder, inviting deeper connection with one another, mythic story, and the living world around us.
